The Eni Awards for Energy Frontiers, Advanced Environmental Solutions, and Energy Transition will once again be given out in 2023, along with prizes for the Young Researcher of the Year, Research Debut – Young Talents from Africa, and the Recognition of Innovation at Eni for our researchers. The application date is November 25, 2022. The Quirinal Palace in Rome will host the award ceremony for the 2022 edition in the fall of this year – Award for energy science from Eni: Eni Award
Eni Award Categories:
With the aim of decarbonizing energy systems, Energy Frontiers Award recognizes technological breakthroughs in the fields of renewable energy and related energy management and storage technologies.
Advanced Environmental Solutions Award: technological innovation to promote the growth of a sustainable and resilient nature within a scenario of continuously changing climate, through the enhancement of nature-based solutions, and the preservation and restoration of natural capital, in order to accelerate the shift towards a circular economy, bio-economy, and environmentally sustainable business models, in accordance with the “One Health – Planetary Health” perspective.
Energy Transition Award: for capturing, using, and storing carbon dioxide (CCUS), along with increased energy efficiency, as a bridge to decarbonization of the energy system; for improving energy efficiency in transportation and industrial processes; and for promoting the use of sustainable (including from an economic viewpoint) technologies.
Young Investigator of the Year honor:
Two prizes given to PhD candidates from Italian universities who have written theses on the following topics: improving nature-based solutions to create a sustainable and resilient environment in the face of ongoing climate change; and preserving and restoring natural capital to hasten the transition to the circular economy, bioeconomy, and environmentally sound business models in line with the “One Health – Planetary Health” philosophy.
Young Talents from Africa Award: Research Debut.
In order to speed up the transition to the circular economy, bioeconomy, and environmentally sustainable business models, four awards given to African graduates who completed a degree or master’s thesis on the following topics: development of a sustainable and resilient nature within a continuously changing climate scenario, through the enhancement of nature-based solutions, and the preservation and restoration of natural capital. Eni Innovation Awards (for Eni employees): three awards for the best technological inventions arising from Eni research and ideas with the highest potential for effect in terms of the innovation they could generate.
