The €15,000 prize for the 2023 ISC3 Innovation Challenge in Sustainable Chemistry and Waste

The topic for the 2023 ISC3 Innovation Challenge is “Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture.”

The annual ISC3 Innovation Challenge is conceptually organized around a chosen focus theme once a year. Startups from around the world are encouraged to compete for a total of 25,000 EUR in prize money with their original concepts related to the current year’s emphasis issue.

They are judged by a panel of international experts who select the finalists after scoring the Start-ups. Autumn/Winter is when the finalists’ pitches and the awards ceremony take place.

Conditions for Eligibility

·      All innovators and entrepreneurs—those who own or otherwise represent the proposed innovation—working for organizations such as research institutes, start-ups, small- to medium-sized businesses, or equivalent organizations engaged in the development and commercialization of sustainable chemistry solutions are eligible.

·      The maximum number of employees (full-time equivalent) at participating businesses is 50, and their maximum annual turnover is 10 million Euros.

·      Except for breakthroughs that result in the development of independent spin-offs, businesses that are majority owned by large firms are not eligible for the award.

·      We place a special emphasis on proposals that address issues in developing countries and are presented by entrepreneurs and inventors from those nations.

·      Proposals are especially encouraged from female business owners.

Criteria

The three key criteria that will be used to evaluate the proposals are:

Innovation level.

Is the innovation distinct, distinctive, and truly unique?

Business viability.

What is the innovation’s market potential?

Sustainability.

What is the innovation’s effect on sustainability?

In three categories, cash awards are given to the winners:

·      Best Social Impact for start-ups that make a significant contribution to their neighborhood.

·      Start-ups with the greatest regional impact are those that have found a novel way to address a problem that is especially important to their area.

·      The Innovation Challenge’s overall Winner.

·      Each finalist receives individualized support from the ISC3 Global Start-up Service in the form of pitch trainings, and they all have the chance to be highlighted as the Start-up of the Month.

Five finalists shall be given:

·      Customized assistance: use of the Global Start-up Service Individualized Support

·      Promote your idea using ISC3 communication channels to increase its visibility.

·      Cash awards: The grand prize winner of the Innovation Challenge will earn 15,000 EUR in cash.

·      Each of the two distinct categories, “Best Social Impact” and “Best Regional Impact,” will receive a cash reward of 5,000 euros.

·      Launch of the new 2023 Innovation Challenge is scheduled for December 15, 2022.

Submissions

·      First stage submission deadline is April 3, 2023, 23:59:59 CEST.

·      The second stage submission deadline is May 31 at 23:59:59 in 2023. CEST

·      Judging Period: June 1 through July 9, 2023

·      Winners will be revealed after July 15, 2023

·      Training for the finalist pitch: September 2023
