Call for Applications: MIASA Publishing Workshop 2026

Applications for the 2026 Publishing Workshop, going down on 9–10 March 2026 on the University of Ghana in Accra is now open. Organized in partnership between The Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA), Africa Spectrum (GIGA Institute for African Affairs) and the Contemporary Journal of African Studies (Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana), this workshop helps African students looking for to strengthen and publish superior analysis papers in main journals centered on African research.

The workshop is designed to equip individuals with detailed editorial suggestions, publication methods, and insights into journal processes. Editors and affiliate editors from each companion journals will mentor individuals, offering steerage on bettering manuscripts and navigating submission and peer-review programs. The programme may even embody discussions on tutorial publishing dynamics, information manufacturing inequalities, and pathways for advancing Africa-centred scholarship.

The two-day workshop contains plenary periods, peer engagement, and one-on-one mentoring. Successful candidates could obtain reimbursement for journey, lodging, and visa-related bills. Meals will probably be offered through the workshop.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

Papers have to be written in English. Submissions at the moment beneath evaluate elsewhere is not going to be accepted. Applicants have to be fluent in each written and spoken English.

Application Requirements

Applicants should submit a single PDF file containing:

• A 150-word summary of the analysis paper.

• A 3-page abstract outlining the analysis query, scholarly contribution, theoretical and methodological approaches, and key findings.

• A CV of not more than three pages.

The MIASA Publishing Workshop, going down on 9–10 March 2026 on the University of Ghana, is accepting functions from early-career African students. The workshop gives editorial mentoring, publication methods, and tailor-made suggestions to assist students getting ready analysis papers for submission to Africa-focused tutorial journals. Eligible candidates have to be PhD candidates or inside six years of finishing their doctorate, affiliated with an African analysis establishment, and dealing on unique analysis associated to sustainable governance. Travel, lodging, and visa bills could also be reimbursed. Applications are due on 19 December 2025.
