Democracy Fellowship in Sudan: Third Cohort (2026)
The Democracy Fellowship in Sudan is a nine-month analysis program designed to empower younger Sudanese public figures by offering them with the abilities and information to provide evidence-based analysis on democracy, peace, and improvement. The program is split into two phases: intensive coaching and hands-on analysis, enabling fellows to contribute meaningfully to the nationwide and worldwide discourse on Sudanese points.
Program Overview
Phase One: Training (2 months)
- Objective: Equip individuals with analysis methodologies and public coverage writing abilities tailor-made to Sudan’s context.
- Activities: The part consists of lectures on democracy, battle research, and workshops on analysis strategies, coverage writing, and digital safety. Participants will have interaction in studying, assignments, and group discussions (20 hours per week).
- Outcomes: Participants will achieve a deep understanding of Sudan’s political panorama and be taught to put in writing academically and analytically at skilled requirements.
Phase Two: Research (6 months)
- Objective: Fellows will apply the abilities from the coaching part to develop evidence-based analysis and coverage papers addressing essential problems with democracy and peace in Sudan.
- Activities: Participants will submit analysis proposals, obtain mentoring, attend bi-weekly discussions, and have entry to small grants (as much as $1,600) for mission funding.
- Outcomes: Research will contribute to international and native discourse, empowering individuals to current Sudanese points to a wider viewers.

Eligibility Criteria
Mandatory
- Age: 21–38 years outdated
- Nationality: Sudanese (each inside Sudan and overseas)
- Education: Completed or at present enrolled in college research
- Time Commitment: Ability to dedicate 20 hours per week for 9 months
- Values: Strong dedication to democracy, peace, justice, and respect for human dignity
Preferred
- Ability to know and have interaction with tutorial materials
- Experience in civil or democratic work on the grassroots stage
- Strong essential pondering and writing abilities
- Knowledge of Sudan’s social, political, and financial context
- Excellent time administration and self-discipline
