Applications at the moment are open for the 2026 ALESA Digital Governance & Climate Justice Incubator programs. Accountability Lab East and Southern Africa (ALESA) have launched two thematic incubators, the Digital Governance Incubator (DGI) and the Climate Justice Incubator (CJI) , to coach, mentor, and help a brand new technology of young civic leaders advancing accountability via expertise and local weather motion. The programs are each constructed on the legacy of Accountability Lab’s flagship Accountability Incubator, and will start in January 2026.
Accountability Lab East and Southern Africa (ALESA) invites young changemakers from Malawi, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe to apply for the Digital Governance Incubator, launching in January 2026.
The Digital Governance Incubator will help young changemakers who’re reimagining what civic management within the digital age utilizing digital instruments to foster good governance, citizen participation, and accountability.
Requirements
- Built on the legacy of Accountability Lab’s flagship programme, the Accountability Incubator, the Digital Governance Incubator is tailored for citizen or residents of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Tanzania who’re between 18 and 35 years.
Programme Details
Over twelve action-packed months, you’ll be a part of a community of accountability entrepreneurs “Accountapreneurs” working collectively to construct accountability in a quickly evolving technological world.
Applicants with digital governance and civic tech concepts that fall underneath the next pillars are inspired to apply for the Digital Governance Incubator:
- Openness and Transparency in Government – Innovative expertise concepts that enhance authorities transparency and openness.
- Access to Information and Participation – Innovative technology-based initiatives that improve residents’ entry to essential authorities data and allow residents to take part extra successfully in governance processes.
- Effectiveness and Efficiency of Government Services -Innovative options that enhance the efficiency of the central or native authorities and their companies within the execution of their mandate.
- Digital Inclusion, Equity, and Accessibility – Novel initiatives that crowd-in marginalized communities, promote fairness and accessibility, and tackle the digital divide.
Women, individuals with disabilities, and different minority teams are inspired to apply.
