Applications are open for the Synapse Life Science Competition 2026. Designed to assist transfer your revolutionary life science services out of the lab and into the market, the Synapse Life Science Competition pairs innovators with enterprise and entrepreneurship college students and offers the coaching, mentorship, and assets to achieve success.

Innovators

• Develop your commercialization plan and pitch
• Participate in enterprise coaching workshops that will help you deliver your concept to market
• Work with Masters/Ph.D. college students with experience in biomedical, enterprise and engineering

Students

• Gain enterprise expertise working with an revolutionary life science begin-up firm
• Work palms-on to create a commercialization plan, poster and put together a pitch

Eligibility

Innovators

• Early-stage firms, innovators, scientists or researchers with a life science product, service or concept
• A pushed, coachable and collaborative management founder/workforce
• Located in Southern Ontario
• Companies who’re included in Canada, or could have accomplished incorporation by December 31, 2025
• Has not positioned within the high 10 at a earlier LiONS LAIR, or positioned within the high 5 at a earlier Synapse Competition

Students

• Upper-year school and college college students
• Master’s-stage or Ph.D. college students
• Recent graduates
• Experience in enterprise, engineering, science or commercialization
• Interest in partnering with an innovator to assist commercialize their concept
