UN Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples – 25th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues & 19th Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples – YOA

The United Nations Voluntary Fund for Indigenous Peoples is happy to ask functions from Indigenous Peoples’ representatives to take part in the twenty fifth session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues & nineteenth session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

The twenty fifth session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues will happen in New York, USA, from 20 April to 1 May 2026. The nineteenth session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples will happen in Geneva, Switzerland, from 13 to 17 July 2026.

Eligibility

Indigenous people and representatives of Indigenous organizations who:

• Are actively engaged in selling and defending Indigenous rights.
• Can reveal how their participation will contribute to advocacy efforts for their communities.
• Require monetary help to cowl journey, lodging, and associated bills.

Selection Criteria

Applications will likely be assessed primarily based on:

• Representation: Priority will likely be given to Indigenous representatives with a transparent mandate from their communities.
• Relevance: Demonstrated involvement in human rights points affecting Indigenous Peoples.
• Impact: Potential for the applicant’s participation to strengthen advocacy and coverage affect.
• Need: Financial want and lack of various funding sources.
