Applications are invited for the MAP Academy & Nalli Fellowship 2025-2027. South Asian textiles kind an important part of native in addition to international histories. Areas of Focus

The Fellowship programme helps analysis into beneath-explored textile-associated histories, practices, and traditions throughout South Asia. Applicants could suggest tasks on any textile-centric topic. The following areas of analysis are inspired:

• Histories of clothes and costume
• Community or private textile archives
• Textiles in non secular or liturgical contexts
• Environmental impression of textile manufacturing and consumption  
• Endangered or disappearing textile traditions
• Critical views on revivalism
• Labour in textile manufacturing, with a concentrate on caste, class, and gender 
• Textiles in relation to different cultural varieties—storytelling, poetry, music, structure, and materials tradition
• Textiles within the context of archaeological study
• Textiles as symbols or metaphors in literature or mythology
