Applications at the moment are open for the 2025 Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF) Young Environmentalist Innovation Challenge. The Young Environmentalist Innovative Challenge (YEIC) is an environmental innovation fund established by KCDF via the beneficiant reward of Mackenzie Scott. Its goal is to develop action-oriented young individuals with robust values and dedication to environmental conservation.

YEIC invites submissions of progressive options that inculcate the spirit of environmental conservation and sustainable administration. The problem gives funding to young individuals and youth-led organisations/firms to scale progressive options to environmental points.

This is the third public name for purposes to the KCDF YEIC fund. Its third version seeks to establish, help, and scale impactful environmental improvements led by young people and youth-led organisations.

Under the theme “Scaling Innovations for Environmental Impact,” the main target is on elevating confirmed options which have demonstrated success on the group stage and the place innovators are able to broaden their attain and deepen their influence.

Benefits

Category 1: To award Three Young Environment Champions
Grant Amount: Up to KES 1,500,000

Eligibility:

Individual youth (aged 15–35) with examined and impactful environmental improvements. (i.e
an Individual or a bunch of people not formally registered)

Category 2: To award 5 Youth-led Organisations
Grant Amount: Up to KES 5,000,000

Eligibility: Registered youth-led organisations/firms with scalable environmental tasks. (i.e
Civil Society organisations, Company Limited with shares, Company restricted by Guarantee e.t.c)
