Applications for the Amazon Film Grant 2025 at the moment are open. Mongabay and One World Media are thrilled to launch a brand new movie grant for filmmakers and journalists engaged on environmental tales in South America. For storytellers reporting on the Amazon area, this grant helps a brief documentary that explores the folks, environments, and challenges inside this very important rainforest ecosystem.

They are on the lookout for character pushed tales that concentrate on the conservation of the Amazon basin, in addition to threats to the ecosystem and communities who rely upon it. Selected candidates will obtain up to $5k funding, one-to-one mentoring, Executive Producer help, and a platform to showcase their work, in addition to being a part of the 2025 OWM Fellowship cohort.

Eligibility

• Journalists and filmmakers reporting within the Amazon area. Eligible candidates can be from and primarily based in these nations: Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela and French Guiana.
• They are on the lookout for mid-profession candidates, with no less than 3 years of expertise of their subject.
• Selected applicant will take part within the One World Media Fellowship 2025, as they report on their media piece.
