Applications at the moment are open for the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) Youth Policy Lab. The ACET Youth Policy Lab is a dynamic platform designed to empower young Africans to interact instantly in policymaking by simulating real-world governance challenges. Blending the creativity of a hackathon with the rigor of coverage design, the Lab invites contributors aged 18 to 35 to step into the function of nationwide decision-makers, crafting sensible, evidence-based options to urgent growth points.
Through mentorship, teamwork, and a continent-wide digital marketing campaign, the Policy Lab builds important expertise in coverage evaluation, innovation, and management—amplifying youth voices in areas the place they’re usually underrepresented. How It Works
If chosen, contributors will:
- Be grouped into groups of three (6 groups whole)
- Receive an actual coverage state of affairs to resolve (below a shared annual theme)
- Be guided by a devoted mentor to brainstorm options
- Spend one month working just about with their workforce to develop a 3-page coverage proposal
- Present their proposal in a dwell digital pitch to a panel of skilled judges
Requirements
African youth aged 18–35 who:

- Are able to commit time and power for 6–8 weeks
- Want to work with friends throughout nations and sectors
- Are fluent in English or French
- Reside in: Ghana, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire,
Malawi, or Niger

Expected Commitment
- 4–6 hours per week, together with workforce conferences, writing, and training
- Timely communication and full participation in all classes
- Submission of a 3-page technique paper with coverage priorities, funds plan, co-financing concepts,
and threat mitigation
