Available Research Themes:

  • Microorganisms in wastewater programs
  • Denitrification, nitrification, ammonia oxidation, and methanogenesis
  • Microbial group dynamics and greenhouse gasoline emissions
  • Laboratory microcosms and in situ WWTP experiments
  • Environmental management methods to cut back GHG emissions

Research Goals

  1. Unravel seasonal microbial interactions that drive greenhouse gasoline manufacturing in WWTPs.
  2. Create laboratory fashions utilizing labelled substrates to hyperlink environmental adjustments with GHG outputs.
  3. Conduct area experiments at the Stuttgart ISWA WWTP to optimize operational parameters for emission discount.

Methods You’ll Master?

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Background: M.Sc., Dipl.-Ing., or equal in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Management, Microbiology, or associated sciences.
  • Additional Requirement: B.Sc. in the identical or associated area.
  • Experience: Solid grounding in molecular ecology and environmental microbiology.
  • Language: Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS or proof of English-medium levels).
  • Residency Rule: At DAAD nomination (Dec 2025), you need to not have lived in Germany for the previous 15 months and should have earned your final diploma throughout the previous 6 years.
