Applications are open for the World Bank Group GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025. The GovTech Innovation Challenge is a pilot programme connecting authorities companions with modern expertise firms to handle vital public sector challenges. This initiative mobilises startups and SMEs to develop sensible options that improve authorities effectivity, transparency, and citizen providers by digital transformation.

This inaugural problem companions the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) with international expertise companies to develop options for tax administration challenges in Ghana. Three chosen firms will take part in a growth programme designed to in useful prototypes and potential implementation pathways.

The Innovation Challenge is a joint initiative of the World Bank, Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and Trust Valley (operated by EPFL Innovation Park Foundation). This programme is supported by the World Bank Trust Fund “Governance & Institutions Umbrella Program”.

This Year’s Challenge: Improving Tax Resource Mobilization in Ghana.

Ghana faces challenges in elevating enough home income to enhance public providers and infrastructure, regardless of sturdy public help for taxation. Eligibility

Open to early-stage startups, scale-ups, and SMEs that:

• Are legally integrated;
• Have fewer than 75 workers;
• Have below $5M USD in annual income;
• Possess technical, operational, and enterprise experience related to the problem;
• Have the capability to actively take part in problem actions.
