Applications at the moment are open for the 2026 European Commission Blue Book Paid Traineeship. The Blue Book Traineeship programme is a five-month paid internship supplied by the European Commission, offering graduates from world wide with hands-on expertise in EU policymaking and administration.
Trainees work in a multicultural atmosphere, develop skilled expertise, and acquire insights into the operations of EU establishments.
Eligibility Requirements
The Blue Book Traineeship programme is open to college graduates who:

have accomplished an ordinary 3-year greater training diploma (minimal EQF 6 degree), corresponding to an entire Bachelor’s cycle, or equal. Only when you’ve got a certificates or official affirmation out of your college that you’ve got such a level will you be eligible to apply.
You must present the next paperwork:

don’t have any prior work expertise of any type, in extra of 6 weeks in any EU institution, body or agency, delegation, with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), or Advocates General on the Court of Justice of the European Union (EUCJ)
- have an excellent information of languages:
- For the administrative traineeship – you should have an excellent information of two EU official languages, one among which should be a working language: English, French or German at C1 or C2 degree as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and a second one at B2 degree at the least as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
For non-EU nationals, just one procedural language is required at C1 or C2 degree. - For the translation traineeship within the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) – you should have the ability to translate into your predominant/goal language (usually your mom tongue), from two different official EU languages (‘source languages’*).:
- your predominant/goal language should be one of many official EU languages
- your first supply language for translation should be a working language of the EU: English, French or German (C degree or mom tongue)
- your second supply language will be any of the official EU languages with at the least B2-level proficiency
