Applications for the Documentary Africa EAccelerate Fund 2025 at the moment are open. The EAccelerate Fund invites East African filmmakers wanting to carry their quick movie concepts to life. This fund is designed to present help, funding, and mentorship to filmmakers from East Africa to create excessive-high quality quick movies with regional and worldwide visibility.
This program is a collaboration of members of the East Africa Screen Collective (EASC) with DW Akademie on this system ”DW Akademie Film Development Fund”. The rationale for the EAccelerate Fund is to put administration and program design of capability constructing instruments for the African display sector into the fingers of Africans and African organisations. It is a decolonising method in rethinking financing and sectoral partnerships on the continent. Benefits

Eligibility
- Open to filmmakers from Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Comoros, Mauritius, or Madagascar.
- Director and Producer should each be East African.
- Films shouldn’t exceed 20 minutes in length.
- 80% of the movie should be shot in East Africa.
- The remaining movie should be accomplished by December 1st, 2025.
- Selected movies should be open to screening regionally or internationally.
