Applications are open for the UNESCO/Tamayouz Cinema Foundation Residency 2025. With funding from the People’s Republic of China and in partnership with the Tamayouz Cinema Foundation, UNESCO presents a 6-week filmmaking residency in Morocco for 10 rising African ladies filmmakers, aged 21–35.

Within the framework of the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, this distinctive programme gives a platform to reinforce expertise, amplify voices, and join with key gamers within the movie trade throughout the continent. Under the mentorship of acclaimed administrators Abderrahmane Sissako and Hicham Lasri, contributors will obtain skilled coaching, produce their very own quick movie, and collaborate with friends from throughout Africa.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

  • Identify as a lady
  • Be a citizen of an African state
  • Be between 21 and 35 years outdated earlier than the beginning of the residency
  • Have a minimum of 2 years {of professional} expertise in movie or audio-visible manufacturing
  • Have written and directed a minimum of one fiction movie (quick, medium, or characteristic), ideally screened at a pageant or broadcast
  • Speak and perceive English and/or French fluently

Two contributors will probably be chosen from every African sub-area.
