The fellowship aligns with the African Union’s 2025 declaration because the Year of Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations – a pivotal second to drive daring advocacy in a time of rising authoritarianism, world inequality, and fractured solidarity.
While curiosity in reparations for racial injustices and decoloniality grows, African actors stay beneath-resourced, disconnected, and sidelined. AfaRise addresses this hole by cultivating a cohort of racial justice movers geared up to behave regionally and globally from an African and Afro-diasporic lens.
