Applications Now Open for the 2026 Fellowship Cohort

The Digital Democracy Centre (DDC), with assist from TrygFonden, is happy to ask functions for its 2026 Fellowship Program. This dynamic and interdisciplinary program is designed to assist researchers, journalists, and policymakers working on the intersection of digital know-how, synthetic intelligence, media, politics, and democracy.


 About the Fellowship

The DDC x TrygFonden Fellowship Program fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing between fellows and the DDC community. Fellows will contribute to ongoing analysis, have interaction in public dialogue, and co-create outreach outputs reminiscent of coverage briefs, academic instruments, and public talks.

Fellowships run from 2 to 12 months (beginning in 2026) and are versatile in design, with choices for in-person stays on the University of Southern Denmark (Odense), distant work, and hybrid preparations. Fellows obtain a wage subsidy or stipend to assist journey, housing, or project-related bills.


 Who Can Apply?

The program is open to lecturers, journalists, and coverage professionals engaged on points associated to digital democracy. Applicants should safe a DDC mentor prematurely and coordinate with their present employers or establishments.

Fellowship varieties:

  • Academic Fellows – Conduct analysis on digital know-how and democracy

  • Journalist Fellows – Report on digital democracy themes

  • Policy Fellows – Contribute to regulatory and coverage discourse


 What Fellows Can Expect:

  • Mentorship from main students at DDC

  • Access to DDC’s interdisciplinary analysis community

  • Opportunities to current and publish work

  • Flexible working preparations

  • Integration into the DDC alumni group

Fellows are anticipated to:

  • Engage with DDC employees and fellows

  • Participate in workshops/seminars

  • Collaborate with exterior companions

  • Submit a closing fellowship report inside 2 months of completion


 Application Requirements:

Applications should embrace:

  • Project title and outline

  • Timeline and proposed actions (distant and/or in-office)

  • Details of the confirmed DDC mentor

  • Collaboration plan with exterior apply companions

  • Expected outputs

  • CV (max 5 pages)

  • Budget overview (e.g., housing, journey, stipend)
