uOttawa Refugee Hub Fellowship 2025 – Empowering Refugee Leaders Globally


The University of Ottawa Refugee Hub is now accepting purposes for the 2025 Fellowship for Refugee Leaders, a transformative 12-month program that helps rising leaders with lived expertise of displacement. This distinctive fellowship combines management growth, personalised mentorship, and direct engagement with world initiatives aimed toward increasing pathways to refugee safety.

Fellowship Overview

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Number of Fellowships: 2
  • Stipend: $20,000 CAD + $5,000 for skilled growth
  • Locations:
    • One fellowship open to Canada-based candidates (with journey to Ottawa)
    • One fellowship open to candidates based mostly in Brazil or Colombia (with journey to Canada for a required course)

Program Highlights

Each chosen fellow will:

  • Commit roughly 20 hours per 30 days to this system
  • Be mentored by a senior member of the Refugee Hub-Pathways International workforce
  • Receive entry to intensive world networks in refugee advocacy, coverage, and innovation
  • Contribute as a Refugee Advisory Board Member for capacity-building tasks in Latin America
  • Participate within the Global Pathways to Refugee Protection course on the University of Ottawa (2 weeks on-line, 1 week in-person)

Who Can Apply?

Eligible candidates should:

  • Have lived expertise of compelled displacement
  • Demonstrate potential for social entrepreneurship or techniques management
  • Show a observe report in refugee-led initiatives or advisory teams
  • Be proficient in English (further languages are a plus)
  • Be in a position to journey to Canada for an in-person course
