The Institute for Economic Justice (IEJ) is happy to ask functions for the 2025 Feminist Economics Summer School, happening in particular person from September 1 to five, 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Feminist Economics Summer School is part of the IEJ’s African Feminist Economics Policy Research and Network (AFEPRNs) mission which goals to combine Feminist Economics approaches into analysis and advocacy via capability constructing initiatives and contributing in the direction of constructing a strong African Feminist Economics community. The FESS has been a important intervention, notably in response to the hole in the usage of feminist approaches to the study and observe of economics. The School is in its fifth 12 months and it’s recognised by Feminist students, activists and researchers within the area for its rigour and relevance to their work.

Costs

• The IEJ will cowl journey, lodging, and visa prices for all chosen members.

Eligibility

Applicants should meet at the least one of many following necessities:

• Hold a level in economics, environmental sciences, social sciences, or politics; OR
• Be an economist and/or practitioner or researcher in feminist economics.

They strongly encourage functions from candidates throughout the African continent, with precedence given to these based mostly in Southern Africa. They notably welcome functions from girls and people from underrepresented communities (together with, however not restricted to, marginalised ethnic teams, LGBTQI+ people, individuals with disabilities, and people underrepresented by faith, geographic origin, or employment standing).

Application

Applications open on 15 June 2025 and shut on 30 July 2025. Due to excessive curiosity, functions will shut earlier if the variety of submissions reaches 200, so early submission is strongly inspired.

Applications might be assessed on a rolling foundation, and profitable candidates might be notified throughout the closing week of July 2025.
