About TechWomen

TechWomen, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, brings rising ladies leaders in science, know-how, engineering, and arithmetic (STEM) to the United States for a skilled mentorship and trade program.

The 2025 program runs from September 21 to October 25, primarily in San Francisco and Chicago. As a mentor, you’ll be part of a vibrant, cross-cultural community of changemakers dedicated to international ladies’s empowerment.

Available Mentorship Roles

Professional Mentor

Help information an Emerging Leader (EL) by her skilled targets throughout a 15-day mentorship interval.

Requirements:

• Women in STEM (males might co-mentor with ladies colleagues)

• Based in San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, or different U.S. areas

• 1–2 hours of availability per day throughout the mentorship window

• 5-week hybrid program participation

Selection Criteria Include:

• Relevant business alignment

• Ability to present skilled help and networking

• Prior mentoring expertise most popular

Innovation Mentor

Support nation groups in growing undertaking proposals that deal with socio-economic challenges by the Innovation Challenge (October 3, 4, and 6).

Requirements:

• Must attend all three full-day Innovation Challenge periods

• Must reside in San Francisco or Chicago, or be prepared to journey

• Skilled in ideation, teamwork, and training

Ideal for:

Cultural Mentor

Help Emerging Leaders alter to life in the U.S. by sharing native experiences and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Responsibilities:

• Organize 2–3 native cultural or social actions

• Serve as a information and level of help throughout this system

• Coordinate logistics and act as a cultural ambassador
