The Barak-Meghna River Basin Storytellers Fellowship 2025 is now open for purposes! This prestigious fellowship helps younger people (ideally underneath 35) from India and Bangladesh working as filmmakers, photographers, researchers, writers, or digital influencers, to creatively doc the lived experiences, conservation efforts, and urgent environmental problems with the Barak-Meghna River Basin.
About the Fellowship
Organised by IUCN’s BRIDGE GBM initiative, the Barak-Meghna River Basin Storytellers Fellowship 2025 goals to foster compelling storytelling, community-led narratives that illuminate:

Ecosystem restoration

Indigenous water practices

Policy influence on native communities
Fellows will obtain mentorship, monetary help, and a platform to amplify their tales throughout media.

Research & Awareness: Highlight floods, air pollution, and erosion utilizing visible media.

Fellowship Grant & Timeline
-
Grant Amount: Up to €1,500
-
Duration: 6 months
-
Reporting: Fellows will submit periodic updates, a mid-term report, and a last influence report.
Each nation (India and Bangladesh) will choose two fellows. Selected candidates will attend an orientation session and obtain steady mentorship from Youth for Meghna (Y4M) and IUCN companions.
Eligibility Criteria

Age: 18 to 35 years

Nationality/Residence: India or Bangladesh

Fields: Environmental storytelling, journalism, communication, pictures, filmmaking, or related analysis

Desirable: Prior expertise with the Barak-Meghna River Basin or native networks
