What is the DOT Climate Program?

The Cisco Climate Champions Project in Kenya
With seed funding from Cisco, the Climate Champions Project is recruiting digitally savvy youth throughout Nairobi and Kiambu to develop into community-based local weather leaders. These younger changemakers will drive consciousness, encourage sustainable practices, and implement sensible local weather options tailor-made to native wants.
DOT Kenya will function the central hub for coaching, mentorship, and help, serving to Climate Champions develop into catalysts of change inside their neighborhoods and past.
The Role: Climate Champion
Location: Nairobi and Kiambu, Kenya
Duration: 2 Months (June–October 2025)
Reporting To: Project Officer and Learning Lead
Key Responsibilities
As a Climate Champion, you’ll:
- Attend a 4-week hybrid coaching starting June 2, 2025
- Conduct neighborhood surveys and ship native local weather schooling
- Mobilize, coach, and lead neighborhood members
- Form and information a 7-member PAR Working Group
- Co-design and implement a small-scale local weather answer
- Present mission outcomes and share neighborhood affect
- Submit progress stories and take part in program evaluations
Are You Eligible?
We’re searching for younger leaders who’re:
- Aged 18–35
- Based in Nairobi or Kiambu
- University/faculty graduates
- Passionate about local weather motion, neighborhood engagement, and digital innovation
- Proficient in ICT instruments (Google Suite, cellular and laptop utilization)
- Experienced in group facilitation or native mobilization
- Available for each in-person and digital periods
You’ll want:
- A smartphone and entry to a laptop
- A Kenyan National ID
- Availability between June and October 2025
