Applications are actually open for the 2025 Code for Africa (CfA) African Digital Democracy Observatory (ADDO) Institutional Fellowships. Code for Africa (CfA) is providing eight African Digital Democracy Observatory (ADDO) Institutional Fellowships to strengthen the investigative abilities of analysis and media establishments in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. The programme goals to equip researchers and journalists at these organisations with open-source intelligence (OSINT) and social media intelligence (SOCMINT) forensic evaluation abilities to provide evidence-driven analysis of knowledge manipulation and interference (IMI) and coordinated inauthentic behaviour (CIB), and to help entry to credible data.

The fellowship programme

The fellowship, which can run for six months, goals to boost data integrity within the goal nations by tackling hate speech, misinformation, and propaganda, whereas strengthening native media and civil society resilience. Participants will achieve entry to digital forensic instruments, assets, and experience to counter data manipulation.

The programme will include:

  1. grants: Organisations will obtain a modest grant to cowl eligible actions and prices.
  2. Training and mentorship: CfA will supply hands-on technical coaching, adopted by one-on-one venture mentorship with help from CfA’s information technologists, editors, and forensic investigators.
  3. Eligibility Requirements

  1. The organisations should be registered in Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal.

  3. The organisations should present proof of reviews they’ve produced and printed, with the latest publication being no older than two months.

  6. The organisations should decide to agreed-upon on-line coaching and mentorship classes.
  7. The assigned journalists should be fluent in both of the languages of tuition and mentorship: English or French.
