Overview

UNESCO, in partnership with LG AI Research, is inviting functions from certified professionals to function curriculum growth specialists for a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence. This initiative aligns with the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, adopted by 193 Member States in November 2021.

The MOOC goals to offer professionals, researchers, and policymakers with a complete and accessible framework for understanding and making use of moral rules in AI growth and governance.


Project Governance

The growth of the MOOC will likely be guided by two key our bodies:

  • Project Steering Committee (PSC): Comprising representatives from UNESCO Headquarters, UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia, and LG AI Research.
  • International Advisory Group (IAG): A collective of subject-matter specialists and stakeholders offering strategic insights and specialised suggestions.

Scope of Work

Selected specialists will lead the design and supply of curriculum modules, working intently with UNESCO employees and an educational designer. Responsibilities embrace:

  • Module Curriculum Development:
    • Define core studying aims and key ideas.
    • Break down content material into 3–4 brief video classes (5–10 minutes every).
    • Outline video construction with scripts or key speaking factors.
    • Propose interactive studying actions (e.g., case research, quizzes, reflection prompts).
  • Collaboration & Feedback:
    • Coordinate with the educational designer and PSC to align content material with pedagogical requirements.
    • Participate in not less than two suggestions cycles with:
      • The International Advisory Group (IAG)
      • A specialised advisory member aligned with the module subject
  • Content Delivery:
    • Deliver module content material utilizing one of many following codecs:

      • Voiceover presentation slides
      • Voiceover scripts for animated movies (animations dealt with by the educational designer)
  • Content Refinement:
    • Work with the educational designer to boost readability, interactivity, and learner engagement.

Deliverables and Timeline

Duty Station


Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

Education:

  • Advanced diploma (Master’s or equal) in:
    • AI governance
    • Ethical/social implications of digital applied sciences
    • Law and know-how
    • Related fields

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ expertise addressing:
    • Ethical, authorized, social, and governance problems with AI at nationwide or worldwide degree
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Curriculum growth or educating
    • Research and evaluation on AI ethics and governance

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of AI’s moral, authorized, and governance points
  • Excellent communication and curriculum writing abilities
  • Familiarity with digital studying codecs
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments with numerous groups

Language:

  • Excellent written and spoken English

Desirable Qualifications

  • A PhD in any of the above-listed fields is an added benefit

Honorarium

  • A USD 4,000 honorarium will likely be paid for the complete challenge time period (June–September 2025).
