sixteenth Call for Funding Requests – Now Open

On 19 March 2025, the IFCD launched its sixteenth name for funding requests. The IFCD is a key funding mechanism of the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. It helps the expansion of dynamic cultural sectors in creating international locations via funding initiatives that improve the creation, manufacturing, distribution, and entry to numerous cultural items and providers.

Since 2010, the IFCD has funded 164 initiatives in 76 international locations, contributing over US$12.6 million to foster inclusive and sustainable cultural and financial improvement.


Eligible Sectors

  • Projects may be transversal or sector-specific within the following areas:
  • Audio-visual/Cinema
  • Media Arts
  • Music
  • Design
  • Performing Arts
  • Publishing
  • Visual Arts

Who Can Apply

  • Public authorities/establishments in eligible international locations

  • NGOs in eligible international locations that meet civil society standards

  • International NGOs working in at the very least two eligible international locations with regional or inter-regional impression


Project Focus Areas

Projects should contribute to structural and sustainable change via a number of of the next:

    • Policy improvement, implementation, and monitoring

    • Capacity constructing for public and civil society actors

    • Creation or enhancement of cultural establishments

    • Cultural business improvement, particularly within the digital sphere

    • Market entry and financing mechanisms

    • Inclusion of susceptible teams and promotion of gender equality

  • Application Deadline: 21 May 2025 (12:00 PM, Paris time)

  • Project Launch: From April 2026 (following approval in February 2026)

  • Project Duration: 12 to 24 months

  • Maximum Funding: US$100,000 (disbursed in 3 installments: 50% at begin, 30% mid-project, 20% at completion)

  • Languages: English or French

  • Eligible Countries: Developing international locations which can be Parties to the 2005 Convention

  • Application Format: Online submission with necessary supporting paperwork
