Applications are actually open for the 2025 British Academy Writing and Mentoring Workshop. The British Academy is happy to announce two interactive workshops aimed toward supporting Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in West Africa.

These workshops will happen in Lomé, Togo and Mile 91, Sierra Leone in June and July 2025, and are designed to offer cutting-edge analysis coaching and improvement Opportunities for ECRs in the area. The workshops are part of a broader initiative to handle the hole in capability improvement for early profession lecturers in Africa, which has emerged regardless of the growing demand for increased schooling.

The particular targets of the workshops are to:

  • Equip members with the mechanisms and instruments to publish in worldwide impactful peer-reviewed journals and write grant proposals.
  • Provide personalised mentorship, and suggestions on submitted manuscripts from skilled lecturers and journal editors.
  • Provide members with Opportunities to community and collaborate with their colleagues, main students and journal editors to provide impactful outputs over the interval of two years.
  • Provide follow-up and sustained help to members for their submissions to worldwide journals after the workshop.

Requirements

Applications are invited from Early Career Researchers who’ve both accomplished their PhD in the final 8 years or are nearing completion to apply for this beneficial alternative. The workshops are open to researchers from any social science self-discipline, together with however not restricted to:

Eligibility Criteria
