Applications at the moment are open for the 2025 Code for Africa (CfA) WanaData Fellowships. Code for Africa (CfA) is providing stipend‐primarily based Fellowships to 14 (14) African Data Scientists and storytellers to empower youth voices and promote a safe digital area by means of gender tasks. 

These Fellowships are part of a joint initiative between Code for Africa, the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), AfricTivistesCFI Media Developmentthe World Scout Bureau Africa Regional Office, and the Kofi Annan Foundation (KAF), with contributions from the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD). This initiative, beneath the WanaData Initiative, goals to deal with content material gaps on gender tasks associated to the African Union Convention on Cybersecurity and Personal Data Protection, e-democracy, digital mobilisation in social actions, SDG16, freedom of expression, and human rights within the Sahel area, neighboring West Africa, and the Horn of Africa. 

Requirements

Applicants should:

  1. Be a registered WanaData member with a minimum of one  (1) 12 months of expertise as an information scientist or information storyteller (activists, campaigners, media content material creator, influencers, journalists, and many others).   4. Have a eager curiosity in digital rights, gender and youth civic engagement
