Postdoctoral Opportunity – Advancing Africa and Black Diaspora Studies at McMaster University
The African Caribbean Faculty Association of McMaster (ACFAM) is inviting functions for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to contribute to the continued progress of Africa and Black Diaspora Studies (ABLD) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
This place affords a singular alternative to interact deeply in scholarship, mentorship, curriculum improvement, and multi-stakeholder collaboration targeted on Black and Afro-diasporic communities domestically and globally.
About ACFAM and ABLD
ACFAM has been instrumental in constructing institutional help for Black and Afro-diasporic initiatives throughout McMaster. One of its most impactful tasks is ABLD, which started as an interdisciplinary minor and is now evolving right into a dynamic analysis and educating ecosystem.
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you’ll work intently with members of each networks to help and co-lead:

Development of influence reviews and communication supplies

Coordination of packages such because the Black Student Mentorship Program (BSMP) and THRIVE Faculty Mentorship Initiative

ABLD-focused occasions: symposia, conferences, and public engagement actions

Teaching one ABLD-relevant course (schedule allowing)

Research, grant writing, and mentorship of scholars and assistants
There can also be devoted time and help out there for postdoctoral-led analysis aligned with ACFAM and ABLD’s mission.
Who Should Apply?
Ideal candidates can have:

A PhD (awarded inside the previous 5 years) in any self-discipline related to Africa and Black Diaspora Studies

Experience with Canada’s Black Studies neighborhood

A powerful publication and presentation document
-
Experience with educating, curriculum improvement, and collaborative initiatives
-
Excellent communication, challenge administration, and grant-writing expertise
Preference can be given to candidates presently in Ontario and legally approved to work in Canada.
Position Details
