Pratt Institute Climate Studio Initiative 2025 – Fully Funded Public Art & Climate Justice Program in NYC
Pratt Institute, in collaboration with Beam Center and Telos Learning, is happy to launch the Climate Studio Initiative, supported by the National Science Foundation. This program goals to boost local weather literacy and promote local weather justice by public artwork initiatives in New York City. By participating the neighborhood and elevating consciousness of local weather points, the initiative fosters lively participation in the democratic course of.
The Climate Studio Initiative consists of two core applications and a summer time competition. It is open to artists, scientists, educators, and youth aged 16-21 who’re in utilizing interdisciplinary approaches to deal with local weather challenges.
Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply?
- Artists, scientists, and educators (for the Climate Studio Residency)
- Youth aged 16-21 (for the Climate Studio Youth Fellowship)
- Education Level: No formal training necessities; open to these captivated with local weather justice and public artwork
- Country: Open to individuals residing in the United States
- Additional Requirements: A dedication to taking part in all phases of this system, willingness to collaborate in an interdisciplinary setting

Program Structure:
- Climate Studio Residency: Brings collectively artists, scientists, and educators to collaborate and mentor youth
- Climate Studio Youth Fellowship: A six-week immersive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) studying expertise

- Mid-July: In-person Climate Studio workshop specializing in intergenerational co-design for local weather justice
- August: One-month manufacturing and fabrication section
- August-September: Public showcase of ultimate initiatives

- Teach-ins, roundtables, and discipline journeys earlier than the official program begins
