Applications at the moment are open for the 2025 Kurt Schork Memorial Fund Awards in International Journalism. The Kurt Schork Memorial Fund (KSMF) invites freelance journalists, native reporters and information fixers from all over the world to submit entries for the twenty fourth annual Kurt Schork Awards in International Journalism.
The Awards recognise excellence and braveness in reporting battle, corruption, injustice and human rights points, with winners receiving a $5,000 money prize. The Committee to Protect Journalists stories the variety of journalists killed in 2024 reached report highs. As ranges of violence and intimidation towards media professionals surge, this recognition stays as important as ever.
Named in reminiscence of American freelance journalist Kurt Schork, who was killed in 2000 whereas on task for Reuters in Sierra Leone, the Awards recognise the bravery of journalists who take nice private threat, usually for little reward, to shine a lightweight on the reality and maintain energy to account.
Categories
