Applications are open for the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) Youth AgriChampions 2025. The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is proud to host the 4th version of the Youth AgriChampions – a Peer2Peer workshop collection on local weather adaptation in agriculture.
The initiative brings collectively youth grassroot voices from the world of smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia, to share their on-the-floor expertise with adapting their practices to local weather change. During the workshops, the BKMC Youth AgriChampions will develop a youth demand paper to be elevated by BKMC Co-chair and eighth Secretary-General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon, in his advocacy work. This yr’s thematic focus shall be on domestically-led adaptation for smallholder farming.
In the previous years, chosen Youth AgriChampions joined the BKMC delegation on the bottom on the African Food System Forum in Rwanda and COP29 in Azerbaijan to launch the Youth AgriChampions Demand Paper and symbolize farmers’ voices around the globe.

- Upon profitable completion of the workshop collection, members are awarded certificates signed by Ban Ki-moon himself and develop into part of the ever-rising BKMC Youth AgriChampions Alumni Network.
Eligibility
- Open to smallholder farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and youth employed within the agricultural sector who need to share experiences, advocate for smallholder farmers, and work on creating a youth-demand paper for world leaders;
- Age 18-35;
- Citizens/nationals of the next nations: Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia;
- Working/labored on a local weather adaptation undertaking or have experience within the subject;
- Keen curiosity in agriculture, local weather change, and meals techniques.
