Applications at the moment are open for the 2025 Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens Youth AgriChampions Program. The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) is proud to host the 4^th version of the Youth AgriChampions – a Peer2Peer workshop collection on local weather adaptation in agriculture. The initiative brings collectively youth grassroot voices from the world of smallholder farming and agricultural entrepreneurship in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zambia, to share their on-the-ground expertise with adapting their practices to local weather change. During the workshops, the BKMC Youth AgriChampions will develop a youth demand paper to be elevated by BKMC Co-chair and eighth Secretary-General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon, in his advocacy work.

In the previous years, chosen Youth AgriChampions joined the BKMC delegation on the bottom on the African Food System Forum in Rwanda and COP29 in Azerbaijan to launch the Youth AgriChampions Demand Paper and signify farmers’ voices around the globe.

Upon profitable completion of the workshop collection, contributors are awarded certificates signed by Ban Ki-moon himself and turn into part of our ever-growing BKMC Youth AgriChampions Alumni Network.

Application standards:

• Smallholder farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and youth employed within the agricultural sector who need to share experiences, advocate for smallholder farmers, and work on growing a youth-demand paper for world leaders
• Age 18-35 years
• Citizens/nationals of the next international locations: Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia
• Working/labored on a local weather adaptation challenge or have experience within the matter
• Keen curiosity in agriculture, local weather change, and meals programs

The workshop collection is hosted and created by the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, below the framework of the Elevating Agricultural Adaptation program. Find the workshop tentative dates beneath. 100% participation within the workshops is required.
