Investing for Employment – Calls for Proposals Open in Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, and Senegal
The Facility Investing for Employment (IFE) has launched Calls for Proposals for initiatives in Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, and Senegal. Open from January 27 to April 15, 2025, this initiative seeks high-impact initiatives throughout all financial sectors, with a robust deal with job creation and social safety.

What is IFE?
IFE is a funding mechanism created by KfW Development Bank on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It operates below the “Invest for Jobs” model as part of the Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition”. Who Can Apply?

Funding Focus: Job Creation & Social Protection
1. Job Creation (Compulsory):

- The funding should fall below considered one of IFE’s 4 eligible venture classes.
2. Social Protection (Bonus Support):
- Projects that transcend necessary labor protections can obtain bonus factors and extra funding.
- Support is offered for formalizing jobs, enhancing insurance coverage schemes, and constructing social infrastructure (e.g., kindergartens, well being facilities, or platforms for casual staff).
Evaluation Criteria
- Number of new, high quality jobs created
- Improved working circumstances & social safety
- Higher schooling & vocational coaching alternatives
- Special deal with ladies, youth, and deprived teams
- Alignment with feminist growth and simply transition objectives
How to Apply?
- Submit a Concept Note through SmartME by April 15, 2025 (17:00 CEST).
- If shortlisted, submit a Full Project Proposal for in-depth analysis and potential on-site visits.
- If chosen, obtain a grant settlement from IFE.
