Nominations are open for the Canada’s Volunteer Awards Program 2025. Canada’s Volunteer Awards (CVA) acknowledges volunteers, not-for-revenue organizations, social enterprises and companies for his or her contributions throughout the nation. The Awards spotlight the numerous ways in which volunteering strengthens communities.

Description of the Awards

  • National award: One nationwide award within the following class:
    • The Thérèse Casgrain Lifelong Achievement Award:
      • This class is open to people who’ve volunteered for 20 years or extra and who:
        • impressed different volunteers
        • made a difference via volunteering
  • Regional awards: 20 regional awards within the following classes:
    • Community Leader
      • This class is open to people or teams of people who:
        • volunteer both on their very own or as a gaggle
        • give their time to a corporation or a trigger
        • take a lead position in fixing social points
    • Emerging Leader
      • This class is open to people between the ages of 18 and 30 who:
        • present management via volunteering
        • assist strengthen their neighborhood via volunteering
    • Business Leader
      • This class is open to companies or social enterprises that:
        • observe company social duty
        • promote and help volunteering at native, regional, and/or nationwide ranges
        • create constructive social, cultural or environmental impacts of their communities
    • Social Innovator
      • This class is open to not-for-revenue organizations, social enterprises or registered charities that:
        • deal with social challenges of their communities
        • use modern methods to serve and strengthen communities

Benefits

  • All award recipients obtain a certificates.
  • Recipients additionally select a registered not-for-revenue group in Canada to obtain a grant:
    • $10,000 for the nationwide award
    • $5,000 for the regional awards

Eligibility

  • Nominees could be:
    • people or teams
    • companies
    • social enterprises
    • not-for-revenue organizations
    • charities
  • Only one nomination will probably be accepted per nominee.
  • Political and public advocacy work will not be eligible.

Individuals or teams

  • Must be Canadian residents, everlasting residents or protected individuals throughout the which means of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Must be 18 years of age and over on the time of the submission of the nomination.
  • Must have contributed to addressing social challenges of their neighborhood.
  • For the rising Leader class, have to be between the ages of 18 and 30 on the time of the submission of the nomination.

Businesses, not-for-revenue organizations or charities

  • Must be registered as a enterprise, not-for-revenue group or charity in Canada. (Not-for-revenue organizations are included below both federal or provincial non-revenue laws. Registered charities are charitable organizations, public foundations, or non-public foundations which are created and resident in Canada. They should use their assets for charitable actions and have charitable functions that profit communities).
  • Must have contributed to addressing social challenges of their neighborhood in Canada.

Before submitting your nomination ensure you collect all required paperwork and knowledge:

  • select the proper award class
  • guarantee your nominee is eligible
  • learn the evaluation standards
  • get the nominee’s consent
  • get letters of help
