Fully Funded UNESCO 11th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED & Social-Emotional Learning (for ODA Recipient Countries)


The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) and the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP), in partnership with the GCED Youth Network, invite passionate youth leaders to apply for the 11th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED.

This workshop goals to empower younger leaders by integrating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into Global Citizenship Education (GCED), equipping them with important abilities to advertise peace, resilience, and sustainability of their communities. Participants will have interaction in discussions, interactive actions, and networking alternatives to deepen their understanding of GCED and SEL as transformative instruments for international change.

Objectives

  • To foster a deeper understanding of GCED as a transformative device for addressing international challenges and constructing peace
  • To equip youth leaders with SEL abilities to advertise empathy, resilience, compassion, and collaboration of their communities
  • To improve members’ capability to hold out GCED actions of their native contexts
  • To assist members construct and strengthen their networks in GCED

Expected Outcomes

  • Enhanced SEL abilities and a deeper understanding of GCED as a framework for fostering peace and sustainability
  • Concrete motion plans for community-based initiatives
  • Networking expertise with youth leaders all over the world and mentorship alternatives
  • Development as younger leaders within the subject of GCED

Key Dates and Details:

  • Pre Workshop: 1 -3 April 2025 (3 days, Online)
  • Main Workshop: 14 – 17 April 2025 (4 days, Offline (New Delhi, India))
  • Mentorship:  May – June (6 weeks, Online)
    • Exclusively for chosen members solely
    • Only those that have accomplished the principle workshop and acquired a certificates of completion from UNESCO APCEIU and MGIEP can be eligible to apply for the mentorship programme.
  • Format: Offline (New Delhi, India)
    (For the Main Workshop held in India, lodging, meals, native transportation, roundtrip worldwide airfare to and from New Delhi, India can be offered)
  • Language: English

Eligibility:

  • Born between 1997 and 2006
  • Be proficient in spoken and written English
  • Have minimal 2 years of energetic expertise in youth actions
  • Have dedication and capability to implement GCED coaching programmes inside three months after collaborating in the principle workshop
  • Be from one of many Official Development Assistance (ODA) recipient international locations (Please seek advice from the Annex on the finish of this doc for the checklist of ODA recipient international locations to check in case your nation is amongst them)

  • Submit the application form
  • Application Deadline: 23 February 2025 (KST, Seoul Time)
  • Selection Announcement: Email notification within the type of invitation letters can be despatched by 27 February 2025 (KST).
  • Registration: Upon receiving the invitation letter, all chosen members should register by 2 March 2025 (KST) on the newest. The registration hyperlink can be offered within the invitation letter.
  • Late registration can’t be accepted and can be thought-about a cancellation of participation.
