Sprinng Writing Fellowship 2025 for African Writers – YOA

Applications are open for the Sprinng Writing Fellowship 2025. The Sprinng Writing Fellowship (SWF) is a FREE and intensive 6-week on-line mentorship program for creating Nigerian, Ghanaian, Liberian, and South African writers with nice potential and willingness to study.

This fellowship focuses on 4 genres of literature: Poetry, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Book Reviews. During the 6 weeks, mentees will keep in touch with their mentors, sending them their works and getting evaluations and commentaries. Mentors and mentees will goal to work on a minimum of 1 piece of writing of their choose style per week. The medium of communication between the mentors and mentees all through this program shall be by way of electronic mail, cellphone calls, WhatsApp, and textual content messages. In addition, all mentees shall be offered weekly airtime and entry to 1-yr MasterClass membership as part of this system.

Eligibility

• Applicant have to be a Nigerian, Ghanaian, Liberian, or South African citizen;
• Must reside in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, or South Africa;
• Must be between the ages of 18 to 25;
• Have not printed a guide earlier than (eBook/chapbook/hardcopy).

Selection Criteria

They are looking out for Nigerian/Ghanaian/South African/Liberian writers who’re objective-oriented and have the potential to develop. In choosing the mentees for the fellowship, they may think about the next:

• Writers with POTENTIAL: Applicants should have primary writing abilities and present the potential to develop.

Application

June 1 – July 15: Fellowship Period
The mentorship program is generally designed to happen over 5 weeks (June 1 – July 7). However, a grace interval of 1 week (July 7 – July 14) has been added for any mentor who’s thinking about extending this system past 5 weeks.
