WeRise is excited to announce a name for proposals for the WeRise Campaign. WeRise is a complete and forward-looking strategy designed to promote and defend Freedom of Peaceful Assembly (FoPA) as a basic proper and instrument to defend and broaden the civic house. Building on the success of the first cohort of “We Risers”, the second era of We Risers will construct a neighborhood of activists, organizers, and motion builders who’re working to innovate and advance peaceable protests to deal with systemic obstacles that marginalize dissent and activism globally.
The second cohort of the WeRise Campaign will embrace a collaborative strategy supporting 16 CIVICUS members from 4 completely different areas to design native campaigns related to their very own contexts below the umbrella of CIVICUS’ FoPA international marketing campaign for expanded civic house. We are dedicated to bringing collectively and supporting activists and actions in an open, dynamic and participatory strategy.
We invite proposals from people, collectives, social actions, and organizations that problem conventional notions of protest – pushing the boundaries of what peaceable protests may appear like, who could be part of it, and the way it can form the future. This is a name for proposals that amplifies the voices and experiences of these on the frontlines of change — from refugees, migrants, and diaspora communities to scholar actions, commerce unionists, and artivists, amongst many different teams that undergo from the penalties or historic marginalization and restricted civic areas
