National Gold Ribbon Schools in Service-Learning

The National Gold Ribbon Schools in Service-Learning program acknowledges U.S. Ok-12 faculty districts, constitution faculty networks, personal faculty techniques, and different multi-school techniques (e.g., parochial, digital, tribal) which are making a tradition of service-learning and/or community-engaged studying. These districts/techniques empower college students to steer, innovate, and create lasting group influence.

Recognized districts/techniques combine service-learning into schooling, making certain it’s accessible to all college students—growing pupil engagement, belonging, and objective whereas fostering fairness, youth voice, and sustainable change throughout various communities.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility: Open to U.S. Ok-12 districts, constitution networks, personal techniques, and different multi-school techniques. Individual colleges can not apply.

Applicants: Applications should be submitted by district/system leaders (e.g., central workplace directors). Don’t qualify? Submit a nomination beneath to suggest a district/system/community for recognition.

Program Timeline

  • Opens: January 20, 2025
  • Deadline: March 20, 2025
  • Honoree Notifications: April 21, 2025
  • Recognition Events: Late May – June 2025

What is Service-Learning?

Service-learning combines tutorial objectives with significant group service, empowering college students to:

  • Lead initiatives addressing real-world challenges
  • Collaborate with group companions
  • Build management, empathy, and civic accountability

Through service-learning, college students turn into energetic residents, creating significant change in their communities and past.
