Applications are actually open for the 2025 ECOWAS Startup Competition. The African Forum on Research and Innovation (FARI) is the ECOWAS discussion board devoted to the promotion ofScience, Technology and Innovation. Its creation was the topic of a call (A/DEC/.1/6/21) by the eighty-sixth Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government. This is the choice establishing and organizing the African Forum on Research and Innovation of ECOWAS (FARI).

For this second version, ECOWAS accepted the institution of the Jury for the collection of the three (03) finest Start-ups within the regional competitors and the Scientific Committee of the Forum. FARI-2025 entails the participation of start-ups, consultants and Ministers of ECOWAS Member States accountable for Science and Technology, the President of the Republic of Benin (host nation) and the Chairman-in-Office of ECOWAS.

Objective

• Select three (3) start-ups on the nationwide stage to take part within the regional exhibition throughout FARI;Award the three (3) finest start-ups on the regional stage.

Expected Results

• Three (03) start-ups on the nationwide stage are chosen;T
• he three (03) start-ups chosen on the nationwide stage take part within the exhibition throughout FARI.
• The three (3) finest start-ups awarded on the regional stage.

Eligibility of start-ups

Start-ups should meet the next circumstances:

• Come from an ECOWAS member nation;
• Have their headquarters in an ECOWAS member nation;
• Be lower than 5 (5) years outdated;
• Respect the principles and deadlines for submission 

The start-up competitors
The competitors is open to any start-up that meets the eligibility circumstances. It takes place in two (02) levels:

– Step 1: Selection of nationwide start-ups

Online through the official FARI web site

1. Complete the net type and obtain the application file
2. Submit the application file on-line (www.fari-ecowas.com) on the web page devoted to Startups
3. Submission deadline: February 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. UTC

– Step 2: Final section (designation of winners)

In individual on the FARI-2025 version

FARI-2025 will happen from May 5 to 9, 2025 in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. Start-ups which have handed
the nationwide choice stage can be topic to the next exams:

1. Exhibition of merchandise, fashions or prototypes from the chosen undertaking
2. Oral presentation of the undertaking in 3 minutes in entrance of the jury. The program and the order of passage of every startup
   can be printed when the outcomes of stage 1 are printed.
