Are you captivated with supporting younger leaders in a secure and empowering surroundings? This is your likelihood to make a significant affect whereas being part of a transformative expertise for Canada’s youth.
The Forum for Young Canadians, organized and run by the Rideau Hall Foundation, is devoted to educating, equipping, and inspiring younger Canadians to interact meaningfully in civic life. In March 2025, the Forum will host its National Summit in Ottawa, welcoming over 300 college students over three weeks (100 – 120 college students aged 14-18 per week) for an immersive, arms-on expertise like no different.
They are in search of Youth Engagement and Safety Monitors from throughout Canada to make sure the protection and nicely-being of program contributors throughout the night programming and in a single day.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the protection and nicely-being of all contributors throughout the night and in a single day.
- Follow the Rideau Hall Foundation’s safeguarding insurance policies.
- Report any points promptly and work with on-web site leaders to handle any considerations as they come up.
- Lead social applications within the night reminiscent of serving to to facilitate ready actions, chaperoning the youth contributors to off-web site experiences, and making certain all of the youth really feel included and welcome.
- Assist contributors with attendance, preparedness, and help these unable to interact in common programming.
- Stay onsite on the resort with contributors, monitoring and responding to points throughout the night and in a single day.
Benefits
You’ll be paid $5,000 per week amounting to $15,000 for the three weeks. In addition, they may present:
- Door-to-door journey bills shall be lined out of your home to Ottawa at the start of the contract and from Ottawa again to your home on the finish of the contract, no matter your location in Canada
- Hotel lodging offered throughout this system.
- Two meals throughout shift hours, breakfast and dinner.
Eligibility
- Minimum age: 24 years.
- Valid police report check, interview, and reference checks are required.
- Experience main youth programming, camp counseling, teaching younger folks or associated fields.
- Familiarity with child safety and safeguarding practices.
- Proven capacity to handle and reply to considerations appropriately and with sensitivity.
- Clear and empathetic communication, notably in dealing with delicate or pressing conditions with contributors and program workers.
- Excellent communication abilities with the power to deal with delicate conditions with care and discretion.
- Certified in Standard First Aid Level C (most popular however not important).
- Bilingual English/French (most popular however not important).
