Call for Nominations: Shorenstein Journalism Award 2025 – YOA

Nominations are invited for the Shorenstein Journalism Award 2025. The Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (APARC), Stanford University’s hub for the interdisciplinary study of latest Asia, invites nominations for the 2025 Shorenstein Journalism Award. The award acknowledges excellent journalists and journalism organizations for their important contributions to reporting on the complexities of the Asia-Pacific area.

The award alternates between recipients who’ve primarily contributed to Asian information media and people whose work has primarily appeared in Western information media. In the 2025 cycle, the award will acknowledge a recipient from the previous class. The Award Selection Committee invites nominations from information editors, publishers, students, academics, journalists, information media shops, journalism associations, and entities centered on researching and decoding the Asia-Pacific area. Self-nominations are usually not accepted.

Award

• The award carries a money prize of US $10,000.

Eligibility

• Both particular person journalists and information media shops are eligible for the award. Teams of journalists are ineligible.
• The award alternates between recipients whose work has primarily appeared in Asian information media and people whose work has primarily appeared in Western information media.
