OneBeat Kenya artistic residency program 2025 for East African artist leaders

OneBeat Kenya, a dynamic two-and-a-half-week artistic residency, will carry collectively 12 trailblazing artist leaders from throughout East Africa and the United States. This residency is designed for collaboration, development, and innovation. Ten artists from East Africa and two artists from the United States, spanning genres and musical communities, will unite to discover new musical horizons and sharpen their skilled and entrepreneurial expertise. The program will run from August twentieth to September eighth, 2025.
his residency affords an intensive program stuffed with artistic workshops, discussions, and hands-on workout routines, together with grasp courses, music recording periods, and filmmaking initiatives. OneBeat Kenya Fellows can even take part in significant engagements with the local people, forging lasting connections. OneBeat Kenya is greater than only a residency; it’s an exhilarating journey of collaboration and creativity, set to ignite new prospects and encourage future collaborations throughout continents.
OneBeat Kenya is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, produced by Found Sound Nation, with further help from the U.S. Embassy in Kenya. This program marks the tenth version of OneBeat Abroad, an annual residency sequence bringing OneBeat to international locations across the globe. OneBeat harnesses the ability of artistic collaboration as a pathway to civic discourse, financial development, and cross-cultural understanding. OneBeat Kenya is organized in collaboration with Guest Artistic Director Nyokabi Kariuki, an achieved Nairobi-based composer and researcher.
