The Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) are proud to announce the decision for purposes for the 2025 Rebecca H. Rhodes African Inclusive Literacy Research Award.
This prestigious award honors the legacy of Rebecca H. Rhodes, a passionate advocate for inclusive schooling, by supporting African students and practitioners devoted to enhancing literacy outcomes for youngsters and youth with disabilities. The award fosters progressive analysis exploring tips on how to assist youngsters and youth with disabilities be taught to learn and write—and to leverage these abilities for lifelong studying.
About the Award
The Rebecca H. Rhodes African Inclusive Literacy Research Award was established in 2024, with its inaugural recipient being Zelalem Wondimu from Ethiopia. Now in its second yr, this initiative continues to help impactful analysis geared toward addressing literacy challenges amongst youngsters and youth with disabilities or particular schooling wants throughout Africa.
The 2025 award will present a $5,000 USD grant to a single major applicant to help analysis bills associated to foundational studying abilities, and optionally, writing and written communication abilities.
