Applications are invited for the Oxford/42 New Writing Prize 2025. 42 are delighted to announce the launch of a multi-disciplinary storytelling competitors along side The Faculty of English on the University of Oxford.

Are you an aspiring novelist, playwright or screenwriter? They would love to listen to from you. They are searching for proficient new voices in fiction and welcome experimental writing in addition to work that may enchantment to a broad viewers, whether or not on the printed web page, the stage, radio, tv or the large display screen.

• The winner will obtain £1,500 together with skilled illustration by 42.

Eligibility

• Open to anybody aged 18 or over;
• Be an aspiring novelist, playwright or screenwriter;
• Be residing, working or finding out within the UK on the deadline for submissions.

Application

To enter the competitors, that you must submit a synopsis (as much as 300 phrases) and an elevator pitch of not more than two sentences for a piece of fiction, together with one of many following (in Word format):

• Novel – the primary 10,000 to fifteen,000 phrases
• Stage or radio play – a whole script of between 30 and 90 pages
• Screenplays – a script of between 30 and 60 pages for episode one in every of a TV present or a whole characteristic-size movie script of 90 pages.
