Photovoice: Dream Africa 2025 for Ghanaian & Canadian Youth – YOA

Applications are open for the Photovoice: Dream Africa 2025. Dream Africa is a transformative initiative led by Algo Peers and ACIC that empowers youth in Ghana (with precedence for Cape Coast) and Atlantic Canada to reclaim their narratives, envision sustainable futures, and switch historic ache into pathways for progress.

This mission harnesses the facility of artwork, storytelling, and innovation to:

• Amplify African Voices: Give voice to African experiences and views each on the continent and within the diaspora.
• Foster a Shared Vision: Cultivate a collective imaginative and prescient of a decolonized and empowered Africa.
• Empower the Next Generation: Nurture a brand new era of changemakers who will form the way forward for the continent.

Focus Areas

• Cultural Renaissance: Revitalize and have a good time African traditions, languages, and humanities in Ghana.
• Community Resilience: Foster sustainable communities and tackle native challenges in Ghana and Atlantic Canada.
• Youth-Led Transformation: Empower younger folks to form their very own futures and lead constructive change in each areas.

Eligibility

• Applicants determine as a youth between 18-30 residing in Ghana or Atlantic Canada.
• Be keen about social justice, cultural expression, and neighborhood improvement.
• Believe within the energy of artwork, storytelling, journalism, and innovation to create constructive change.
• Be an individual of African descent (Including, however not restricted to Black Canadians, People of African ancestry residing in Canada, People of Afro-Caribbean ancestry, People of Afro-Latino ancestry).
• Be obtainable for roughly 2 hours/week over the course of 10 weeks between January 2025 and March 2025, for Zoom / In-Person (for these in Ghana) periods and program work similar to taking photographs, connecting with group members, and reflecting on this system course of.
• Show curiosity in studying from others and sharing points of their very own lived experiences, communities, and evaluation with youth from different areas of Ghana, Atlantic Canada and different international locations.
