Alberta Anti-Racism grant Program 2025 (up to $10,000)

Applications are invited for the Alberta Anti-Racism Grant Program 2025. Alberta’s Anti-Racism Grant Program is meant to help neighborhood organizations in Alberta to implement initiatives that fight discrimination and handle systemic racism by offering funding for initiatives that enhance public schooling and allow Albertans to acknowledge and worth cultural variations and heritage.

The program funds aren’t designed to handle entry to inexpensive housing, job alternatives or healthcare. Rather, the funds are meant to educate concerning the impacts of discrimination and racism confronted by Indigenous and racialized teams and allow neighborhood organizations to develop their means to help anti-racism initiatives. The program may even help smaller grassroots Indigenous or ethnocultural teams to ship packages and companies by partnerships with bigger organizations.

Program Objectives

Objective 1

Educate Albertans on racism and the impacts of racism confronted by Indigenous and racialized teams:

  • Albertans have an elevated understanding of racism, its impacts and the challenges confronted by Indigenous and racialized teams.
  • Albertans have elevated data to establish racism and the way to handle racism and racist acts.
  • Albertans have elevated consciousness of the assets and instruments that organizations present to help anti-racism initiatives.

Objective 2

Enable neighborhood organizations to develop their means to help anti-racism initiatives:

  • Racialized communities have help to absolutely take part in the neighborhood.
    • Examples are coaching and employment, mentorship packages for internationally skilled professionals, help or schooling for marginalized communities to navigate helps.
  • Racialized communities have capability to proceed open and trustworthy conversations about racism, microaggressions and selling consciousness about their influence.

Funding Streams

The program helps initiatives that assist forestall and handle racism. There are 2 funding streams:

Eligibility

  • Organizations should be based mostly in Alberta and be a non-revenue group; or Indigenous authorities, tribal council, band council, settlement or not-for-revenue Indigenous group.
  • Applicants who’re presently receiving different grants or funding from the Government of Alberta should be up-to-date on all required reporting to be thought-about.
