Apply to affix the 2nd Cohort of the Network of African Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation (FEMWISE-AFRICA) – Continental level. The Network of African Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation (FEMWISE-Africa) was formally established by a choice of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government (AU Summit) on 4 July 2017 (Assembly/AU/Draft/Dec.21 (XXIX)), as a subsidiary mechanism of the Panel of the Wise.
To implement the mandate of the Network at continental level, FEMWISE-Africa members shall be engaged in the following key actions:
- Advocate for Women’s lively participation in battle prevention, mediation, dialogues, preventive diplomacy, and different peace processes in Africa;
- Provide mentorship, coaching and peer-learning for girls mediators on mediation and battle prevention and decision for readiness to short-term and long-term assignments;
- Provide experience to the Panel of the Wise engagements together with peace constructing efforts, shuttle diplomacy engagements, and nationwide dialogue processes;
- Participate in High-level engagements on behalf of the Network;
- Promote linkages with nationwide, regional, international girls mediators networks and companies engaged in Women, Peace and Security (WPS);
- Document finest practices, expertise sharing, and classes realized on mediation and battle prevention, decision;
- Support the institution and operationalization of regional and nationwide chapters of FemWise-Africa;
- Discharge another actions/engagement which will require members motion.

Eligibility
- Open to girls of African Citizenship dwelling in Africa;
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree;
- Working proficiency in a minimal of one official AU language (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili)
- Age 18 and above;
- Demonstrable outcomes or credible proof of Five (5) years of substantive expertise in the Design or Facilitation of Mediation, Dialogue and Negotiation Processes, primarily based on 2 – 3 examples of concrete actions taken to advertise peace processes in Track I or II;
- Additional Experience in one of the following thematic areas (which regularly intersect with mediation processes) might be an add valued:
- Ceasefire Negotiations and Security Arrangements;
- Gender and Inclusion;
- Governance and Constitution-making;
- Power-sharing;
- Climate Change and Natural Resources;
- Transitional Justice and Reconciliation;
- Any different related thematic areas.

- Be prepared to take part in varied actions on behalf of the Network upon request;
