The Wilkes Center goals to catalyze revolutionary science and options to handle local weather change.

The Wilkes Center leverages the University of Utah’s distinctive place and setting to drive world-class analysis on local weather change forecasting, impacts, and options and locations this science within the arms of decision-makers. About the Grant

The Wilkes Climate Launch Prize highlights high international concepts for combating local weather change. Our purpose is to develop efficient local weather change options rapidly for the good thing about folks and ecosystems worldwide.

Scalable affect:

  • What are key limitations and what plans are in place to beat limitations, constraints, dangers, or trade-offs with scaling up the answer?

Co-benefits:

  • Will the proposed resolution result in co-benefits to communities, economies, or ecosystems?
  • What is the potential for unfavorable penalties (e.g. on communities, economies, or ecosystems) and what are options to mitigate them?

Eligibility

Organizations in any respect levels, each for-profits and nonprofits, anyplace on the earth are eligible to submit concepts to be thought-about for the Wilkes Climate Launch Prize. This consists of seed, pre-seed, venture-funded, publicly traded stage firms, or nonprofits.

How to Apply

Phase I: First spherical submissions Due February 28, 2025 (all submissions should be submitted by 11:59 PM MST, Friday evening)

Phase II:  Finalists submit second-round software on May thirteenth and pitch in-person at Wilkes Climate Summit on the University of Utah, May 15, 2025

Awards: Award ceremony in September 2025
