Canadian Journalism Foundation Bursary 2024 for BIPOC Student Journalists

Applications are open for the Canadian Journalism Foundation Bursary 2024 for BIPOC Student Journalists. It is designed to help college students who’ve demonstrated robust engagement with the BIPOC neighborhood and a dedication to excessive journalistic requirements. The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF) launched the CJF Bursary for BIPOC Student Journalists in Fall 2021.

The Canadian Journalism Foundation fosters excellence in journalism by way of the help and recognition of rising and skilled journalists and their organizations and enhances the general public’s understanding of fact-based journalism.

Funding

• The $5,000 annual bursary is funded by Toronto-based communications agency Media Profile, a long-time supporter of CJF.

Eligibility

• Open to a BIPOC scholar of their remaining 12 months of a Canadian undergraduate journalism program.

Application

• Applicants are requested to submit samples of classwork or freelance reporting within the type of written work, video, audio, video enhancing or different journalist kinds; and
• Share an announcement of intent about what they need to do in journalism upon commencement.
